International Premiere – thank you Cleveland!

Cleveland International Film Festival
Wow – what an amazing festival! A big thanks to the wonderful team and audiences at the Cleveland International Film Festival! Our international premiere really went off with a bang with all our screenings selling out so they were upgraded to screen in TWO cinemas simultaneously for every session with filmmaker QandAs! Amazing!
Amazing for us as filmmakers to know that the audiences were so keen! Also amazing the festival were organised enough to be able to accommodate for this demand. We were so happy to see so many kids in the cinemas too!

If you know a filmmaker we HIGHLY suggest they submit their film to CIFF.
It is an amazing festival led by the handsome much loved Bill Guentzler and his dedicated and friendly team. We have had the official trailer song in our head all week! Take a look/listen here! or live in the cinema here.

We could go on for days about our amazing time at CIFF! A big thanks also to photographers Laura Blake (these are two of her photos of Genevieve and Henrik at CIFF ) and Lauren Krueger, Debby Gold, and all the wonderful people we met and for the great feedback and vox pop video messages. We will post more videos and photos from CIFF online soon so visit us here again.

Thanks for the memories Cleveland!!! We will be back!

Building Global Friendship = CISV = awesome!

Written on January 27, 2012 at 6:53 am, by gen

Happy New Year!

We have enjoyed a really warm summer here in Melbourne, and in between planning screenings locally and internationally (to find out more pop your email in the white box to the right of screen!) we found time to head down to the coast and attend a very special event.
CISV group
Picture – Genevieve and half the delegation from Brazil!

A little while ago we heard about a peace organisation that runs international camps for 11 year-olds around the world. It goes without saying we nearly fell off our chairs, and couldn’t wait to find out more.
This month we were thrilled to be find out that one of these camps was happening, and in our corner of the globe! We went down and met the kids from 11 different countries and learnt more about CISV (Children’s International Summer Village). We highly recommend everyone visit their website and get involved! They have branches all over the world.

Soon we will be posting some more about CISV and sharing video and photos we shot at the children’s village. We have invited them to get involved by submitting their own stories to this website. Stay tuned! A big shout out to all the camp leaders and kids that we met! Hope you enjoyed your time in Australia and we look forward to hearing from you soon!

Filmmaker Genevieve Bailey – Top 100

Written on January 27, 2012 at 6:30 am, by gen

The Melbourne Magazine recently published their TOP 100 listing “Melbourne’s most influential, inspirational, provocative and creative people for 2011.”
Genevieve was honoured to make it on the list and to meet some of the others at the launch party and hear their remarkable stories.

Melbourne Magazine Top 100 GB

From philanthropists, social change activists, scientists, volcanologist, domestic violence campaigners, bicycle charity founders, politicians, and even a pint sized lifesaver!
Shelley, aged 26, risked her own life and ’single-handedly rescued two beefy blokes from drowning in a rip’ in the ocean at Sorrento back beach. It was inspiring to meet people
as energised and obsessed with their work as what we are, even if we are working in very different fields.

Melbourne Mag Top 100

It’s wonderful to be included in amongst such an inspiring list of people, big thanks to Melbourne Magazine, Konrad Marshall for the interview and photographer Daniel Mahon.
